Rohatsu Sesshin

Jikoji would like to invite you to Rohatsu Sesshin, commemorating Shakyamuni Buddha’s enlightenment 2500 years ago with continuous transmission of the Three Treasures through the generations to the present moment. In honoring this tradition and the coming of winter, we reflect on this existence as it is. Rohatsu is a sesshin in total silence, with no talks or services—just silent sitting, walking and eating together for seven days.

Those attending will be asked to help with some of the duties during sesshin, help with doan-ryo, help in the kitchen, help with serving meals and cleanup.

All are welcome! Please sign up below to register for the Sesshin. Oryoki meals are provided. You can request Oryoki instruction when registering, and we also recommend this video overview.

Overnight accommodations (shared or campsite) are available as additional options during checkout.
