Mountain Seat Ceremony

The Board of Directors of Jikoji Zen Center joyfully announces that it has invited Sensei Chōbun Nenzen Pamela Brown to ascend to the position of Abbess, and she has graciously accepted the invitation. She will be formally installed in a Mountain Seat Ceremony (Shin San Shiki) on October 31, 2026.

This traditional Zen ceremony marks a milestone for our community. In celebrating this formal assumption of leadership, we deepen our commitment to this temple as a center of Buddhist wisdom and compassion where all are welcome.

In-person attendance is by invitation only, but the main portion of the ceremony will be live-streamed starting at 10 am via Zoom.
